Many assume that public relations is directly marketing. It isn't! But many sport marketing textbooks fit public relations into it. That's okay. They are related.

We've given public relations its own category, but tucked it underneath sport marketing.

And PR in sport is growing. The explosion of media outlets bodes well for the future of public relations in sport. With so many media outlets from bloggers to local media to big time TV networks, there's a need to control the message that sport properties send out. That's where strong message sending comes in.

But public relations is much more than just dealing with the media! It is essentially communications. Talking with all kinds of people, groups and other organizations that have an interest in what you work for. A lot of that talk happens on social media now-a-days. Whether it's Draymond Green or Lebron James making inappropriate to a sport organization's excellent handling of a crisis, we've got you covered.
