Welcome to the twelfth episode of The SnaP, a SPort MAnagement (SPMA) Hub digital show, featuring voices from the sport industry.

In this episode, we’re catching up with President and CEO of Ontario University Athletics, Gord Grace!

Gord told us about how he got involved with the organization and what his role entails now. He explains how he is in charge of overseeing 23 sports across universities all over Ontario.

We talked about his experience as a college athlete and later a football coach. Gord told us his thoughts on Canadian athletes going to the United States to continue their collegiate careers, versus staying and developing their skills in Canada.

He also gave us insight on OUAs decision to cancel all programming until the end of 2020, as well as which sports might be resuming. He emphasized that he understands student-athletes’ disappointment and is also feeling it himself.
