Arrive prepared, understand the event plan, ask for responsibility when appropriate and build relationships with the staff leading your area. After the event, record the scale of the operation, what you handled and any problems you helped solve. Stay in touch with supervisors who saw your work rather than trying to collect dozens of contacts. On your resume, describe the function and responsibility, not just the event name. “Supported athlete transport scheduling across six competition days” is stronger than “volunteered at tournament.”
