How do you compare sports jobs when titles mean different things at every organization?
One team’s coordinator seems to do another organization’s manager-level work. How should candidates judge the actual seniority of a posting?

SPMA provides a practical starting answer. Add first-hand experience, a different perspective or a useful example from the industry.
Read the responsibilities, reporting line and decision authority more closely than the title. Look at whether the role owns projects or supports them, manages people or budgets, sets strategy or executes it, and how many years of experience are expected. Search for similar roles at comparable organizations and review the backgrounds of people who currently hold them. In interviews, ask what success looks like after six or twelve months and which decisions the person can make independently. Titles are useful shorthand, but the scope of the work is what will shape your development and your next move.
