Ask the Sports Industry 1 answer

How do you build a sports network in a city before you move there?

If you are planning to relocate for work, what can you do in advance so you are not starting from zero after the move?

Start by mapping the sports ecosystem rather than contacting random people. Identify teams, venues, agencies, governing bodies, universities, events, brands and vendors in the city. Follow their work, attend virtual events where possible and request a small number of informational conversations tied to your function. Alumni networks and professional associations can be useful bridges. When you know your moving timeline, say so clearly so the conversation has context. The goal is not to ask everyone for a job; it is to understand the market and arrive with a few genuine relationships already started.
