What do you do if your sports job has almost no onboarding?

I have heard that smaller sport organizations sometimes expect new hires to figure things out quickly. If there is very little formal onboarding, how do you get up to speed without constantly interrupting coworkers?

Build your own operating guide. Write down systems, recurring deadlines, contacts, approvals and event-day responsibilities as you learn them. Ask for examples of previous work and schedule short check-ins instead of asking one-off questions all day.
