Club de Cuervos is a comedy-drama series on Netflix with 4 seasons. Fun fact, it was actually the first Spanish-language original series on Netflix. It centres around Salvador "Chava" Iglesias and his half-sister Isabel in the fictional Mexican city of Nuevo Toledo. They share the same father, who at the very beginning passes away from a heart attack. With his passing, the two inherit their fathers' beloved soccer club, Cuervos FC (also fictional). Rather than get along, they constantly fight about who should have more authority over all the club's dealings. Being the man, and in a culture that is male-dominated, Chava takes over as president, even though Isabel is smarter, more reliable and more responsible. It will be a struggle, but Isabel has to do what she can to save their father's team from burning to the ground under Chava and convince the club that she'd be the right choice to lead them to success. It's 4 seasons of laughs, anger and heartbreak, but will the siblings be able to show all of Mexico that they have what it takes? You'll have to watch to find out!

Club De Cuervos's Relation To Sport Business

In this series, we get to see the ownership side of sports and what happens when owners don't get along and the differences between good and bad leadership. Chava from the beginning you can tell is a bad choice. His decisions lead to tension among the team and the front office of Cuervos FC. Despite this, he still thinks he's the best thing to happen to the team. It's this that starts to lead the team toward a downhill spiral and everyone wanting Isabel to take over. And eventually, she does. But, that doesn't stop Chava from trying to get his spot back. He will do whatever he can to sabotage the team and make his sister look bad which includes giving the team tactics away to opponents. It's these childish rivalries that can ruin a team if there is no clear direction or agreement on who will do what. 

Why watch Club De Cuervos?

Club de Cuervos is one for all soccer fans to enjoy. Aside from the mind-boggling antics of Chava Iglesias that will at some point frustrate you, there still are plenty of good family bonding moments that will remind you family is everything. With games thrown in, you'll feel the energy of support for the Cuervos and cheer for their victories and feel the crushing defeat of their losses as if you're rooting for a real team in a professional match. And despite a major part of this being a sibling rivalry and maybe picking sides, you still hope you'll see the two get along eventually. This series is for sure a must-watch for soccer fans to see what is in store for the Cuervos and if they can still win despite their circumstances.
