Ask directly about the normal week and the peak week. Useful questions include how many events the role typically supports, whether event nights are in addition to regular office hours, how schedules change in season, whether overtime or time off in lieu exists, and how responsibilities are shared during travel or major events. The right answer depends on the role and your own constraints. What matters is avoiding surprises. A demanding schedule can still be a good fit when expectations, staffing and recovery time are clear. “You have to love sports” should not substitute for a practical explanation of the workload.
