Is a major-event internship worth it if the role is short-term?

World championships, tournaments and large events can offer only a few months of work. How valuable is that experience compared with a longer internship at a smaller organization?

A major event can provide unusually concentrated experience because planning, stakeholders and deadlines move quickly. The value depends on your responsibility. A short role where you own accreditation, transport, volunteer operations, media services or partner delivery may be more useful than a longer internship with little ownership. Ask what you will actually do, who you will work with and what happens after the event. Because the role ends quickly, be deliberate about documenting results and building relationships while the project is active. Large-event experience can be highly transferable when you can explain the operational complexity you handled.
