A law degree can be useful, especially for contract analysis and legal reasoning, but it is not the only route into representation. Agent requirements vary by sport and jurisdiction, and many certification systems have their own education, examination or experience rules. The day-to-day job also involves recruiting, relationship management, negotiation, business development and client service. Before choosing an expensive degree solely for this goal, research the certification rules for the sport you care about and talk with agencies about how junior staff actually enter. Experience supporting contracts, recruiting, marketing or athlete services can help you understand whether representation is the right fit.
