About North American Indigenous Games Council

The North American Indigenous Games Council (NAIG Council) is the governing body responsible for overseeing and supporting the North American Indigenous Games, a major multi-sport and cultural event celebrating Indigenous athletic excellence, heritage, and community.

The Council works with Indigenous communities, sport organizations, and host societies across Canada and the United States to create meaningful opportunities for Indigenous youth to participate in sport and cultural activities. Through the Games, NAIG promotes physical activity, leadership, cultural pride, friendship, and personal development while strengthening connections among First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and Native American communities.

Committed to Indigenous representation and collaboration, the NAIG Council helps ensure the Games reflect Indigenous values, traditions, and aspirations. Its mission extends beyond competition, using sport and culture to inspire future generations and celebrate Indigenous achievement.
