WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:FINANCE COORDINATOR

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Finance Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Lacrosse Canada’s finance and accounting functions. He/ she helps maintain accurate financial records, manage cash flow, and process day-to-day transactions. The role also supports financial reporting, compliance, and the year-end audit. This position suits a detail-oriented, organized professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to help build a strong financial foundation for the sport on the road to LA 2028.

  • Prepare and issue invoices to partners, vendors, Member Associations, and other stakeholders. Record and apply incoming payments in QBO and ensure accurate tracking of accounts receivable.
  • Enter and code vendor invoices with the appropriate GL classifications and documented approvals. Manage payment schedules and monitor outstanding accounts.
  • Coordinate the monthly credit card reconciliation cycle, distribute statements to cardholders, track outstanding receipts, and ensure documentation is complete and coded ahead of final review.
  • Work with the Chief Operating Officer to prepare and maintain weekly cash flow reports and a 52-week rolling forecast that supports financial planning and liquidity management.
  • Assist the Chief Operating Officer in building and maintaining the annual operating budget and prepare budget-to-actual variance reports.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet items to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Support the preparation of year-end financial statements and assist with the external accounting and audit processes as required.
  • Prepare monthly HST returns and other statutory tax submissions for review, approval and filing by the external fractional Finance Manager, ensuring all reporting timelines are met.
  • Vendor File Maintenance: Set up and maintain vendor records, including banking information and required documentation.

with payroll setup and semi-monthly processing for staff, ensuring accuracy and alignment with approved compensation structures.

  • Support the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer with reporting for leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Support financial reporting and compliance for government and funding partners, including Sport Canada, the Canadian Olympic Committee, and Own the Podium. Track restricted and grant-funded revenue and expenses by funding stream, maintain supporting documentation, and help prepare interim and final grant reports in line with not-for-profit accounting standards.
  • Track renewal dates for organizational insurance policies and process certificate-of-insurance requests from event hosts and Member Associations as needed.
  • Take deposits to the bank as required, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Withdraw honorarium cash from the bank as required, maintaining appropriate documentation and controls.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Diploma in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or finance/accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office applications
  • Understanding or experience working in a National Sport Organization is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a dynamic environment.

COMPENSATION

  • Salary range $55,000 – $65,000.
