No matter what is going on I try my best to stay positive and work as hard as I can with what life throws at me. If I can share that on my social media platform and help even one person then it is worth it to share.

I auditioned to become the on-court host for the Sacramento Kings back in 2017. I was so fortunate to be chosen to be one of the co-hosts of over 100 different applicants. It is one of the most incredible jobs I have ever had.
On a typical game day, we would come to the arena anywhere between 1-3 pm to start rehearsals. We rehearse every single entertainment aspect that goes on in a game. We have about an hour's break and then it is game time. I will be literally sprinting around from 5-10 pm all throughout the arena making sure each segment goes as planned. We finish with a post-game meeting.
The fans.
NBA games are people's escapes from their lives. They are carefree, passionate, and just so happy to be there. Being able to be a part of it is truly life-changing.
Be patient Kings fans! We will eventually be back and it will feel incredibly good being reunited together!
We are not prepping anything just yet, but we as the staff are just as anxious as all of the fans out there to get back in the arena.
I have always been told that the two things we can control are:
No matter what is going on I try my best to stay positive and work as hard as I can with what life throws at me. If I can share that on my social media platform and help even one person then it is worth it to share.
It is so easy to get wrapped up in the negativity and quite frankly scary things happening in the world. It is easy to get into a rut and stop trying.
But by continuing to stay positive, I hope we can continue to be successful through every aspect of our lives and more importantly have a voice to help others that need our help.
I danced throughout high school and knew I wanted to continue to dance throughout college. Instead of auditioning for the UCD dance team, I became Sacramento Kings Dancer from 2010-2015.
It was such an amazing experience, but after college, I wanted to enter into a different career that wasn’t so taxing on my body.
Being a dancer was 100% my motivation to become a nutritionist. My coach on the dance team was actually the one who inspired me to set my major as nutrition.
I went to UC Davis and received my Bachelor’s in Clinical Nutrition in 2014. After working with/shadowing a Nutrition coach for a year I started taking on clients of my own. Ever since then I have been working 1:1 with hundreds of clients teaching them out to create a healthy and maintainable lifestyle. I feel so lucky that I was able to turn a hobby and passion of mine into a career.
I always prioritize my mental and physical health first before anything else.
When you are the best version of yourself mentally and physically you are able to give everything you have to your family, career, and really anything in your life.
One of my favourite quotes is “You can’t pour from an empty cup.”
Katerina Kountouris has transitioned from professional dancer to arena host but one thing that hasn't changed is her positive attitude. Even throughout these unprecedented times and abundance of uncertainty, she has dedicated her time to supporting the fans. Katerina has been thriving on social media during her time off and I know that she will continue to make a difference in people's lives both on social media and in the arena.
