A high-level playing background can help in some football roles, but operations also requires planning, communication and execution. Look for experience with team logistics, equipment, travel, scheduling, recruiting support, video, camps, events or athletics administration. College and amateur programs can provide practical exposure even if your long-term goal is professional football. Learn how the organization moves people and information through a week of preparation. Your resume should show that you can handle detail, deadlines and sensitive team needs, not try to compensate for a playing background by pretending to have technical expertise you do not have.
