Look beyond the first team. Clubs, leagues, federations, agencies and event organizers need people in ticketing, partnerships, marketing, communications, community programs, operations, competitions, fan engagement, digital media and analytics. Your best entry point is usually the function where you can already demonstrate useful skills. A strong sales candidate is more competitive for soccer ticketing than someone whose only qualification is loving the sport. Once inside, learn how sporting and business operations connect and build relationships across departments. Soccer also has a large international ecosystem, so language and cross-cultural experience can expand the range of organizations you can pursue.
