Senior Manager, Women’s Sports & Portfolio Innovation
About the Role
About the position
GEICO's Senior Manager of Women's Sports and Portfolio Innovation is responsible for building a new sponsorship practice, not simply coordinating an existing property deal. Reporting to the Senior Director of Sports and Experiential Marketing, the role builds strategy, investment processes and measurable partnerships with teams, leagues and individual talent.
Responsibilities and day-to-day work
- Design, launch and manage a complete women's sports sponsorship roadmap, using audience fit and demonstrable brand outcomes to choose future partners.
- Develop distinctive consumer campaigns and narratives connecting athletes, women sports fans and GEICO's brand.
- Lead sponsor, rights holder and athlete ambassador relationships from commercial negotiation through activation, measurement and renewal.
- Audit and redesign multi-year sponsorship investments, balancing established properties with emerging sports, formats and media platforms.
- Build investment approval standards, workflows, governance structures and decision frameworks as the portfolio grows.
- Monitor league expansion, ownership models, media rights developments and new technology that change women sports commercial value.
- Translate long-term bets into annual budget allocations, activation calendars and clear executive recommendations.
- Introduce pilot-and-scale methods for new leagues, talent, platforms and sponsorship formats based on reliable brand lift and business metrics.
- Coordinate national and local activations across marketing, analytics, creative and experiential agencies and internal employee engagement functions.
Qualifications and essential skills
- Eight or more years in high-level sports sponsorship or experiential marketing, with DIRECT responsibility for creating or leading a comparable portfolio.
- Evidence of owning large, multi-year sponsorship investments and negotiating both brand and athlete ambassador agreements.
- Demonstrated success creating operating systems and investment frameworks, not just executing campaigns.
- Strong analytical, cross-team leadership, budget management and ability to explain return on sponsorship spend.
- Comfort traveling approximately 20%, including some weekends and outside normal business hours.
Preferred experience and additional assets
- Established relationships across women's sports leagues, teams, talent, broadcasters and agencies; experience launching new divisions or disruptive sponsorship platforms.
