
Bilingual Communications and Operations Coordinator

About the Role
SIRC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bilingual Communications and Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic team. Reporting to SIRC’s Manager Operations and Outreach, the successful candidate will support the development and execution of communication strategies and research projects for sport across Canada, while also providing day-to-day operational and administrative support to help keep the organization running smoothly.
- Position Type: Full Time (4-month contract minimum, with potential for extension)

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Fluency in both French and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Based in the Ottawa region, with the ability to work in office (House of Sport, RA Centre).
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Degree in sport administration, business administration OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years’ experience in similar field/role.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Experience contributing to a team environment while also working well individually.
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable responding to email correspondence promptly and professionally, and reconciling transactions or basic financial records.
- Proven experience in, or strong interest in, executing communication strategies and plans.
- Proficient in MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel & PPT), specifically Excel, and familiarity with tools such as MailChimp, WordPress, and Canva an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
Communications Support
- Support content creation for SIRC’s digital and social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube), email marketing, and website.
- Contribute to the Canadian Sport Daily and other SIRC newsletters, including copy-editing and distribution list management.
- Assist with the creation and publication of content and resources for SIRC’s website, including day-to-day management of website functions.
Operations and Administrative Support
- Respond to incoming email inquiries and subscribing member support requests in a timely, professional, and bilingual manner.
- Support basic accounting activities, including transaction reconciliation, receipt management and financial reporting.
- Provide general administrative support, including filing, data entry, scheduling, and other day-to-day tasks as needed.
