What is The Shelf?
The overall goal is to provide a resource to the SPMA reader to explore other sources and resources for information. The recommendations can be based on referrals and discussions as well as previous experience and provide connections and information relevant to the key categories presented on the site.
What does it do?
- Provide insight into books, TV shows, movie or song/music relevant to the business side of sport
- Allow readers to appreciate different facets of the business of sport
- Develop a link between themes on the SPMA site
- Increase traction from Google to SPMA
What am I expected to ensure when doing a shelf post?
- A clear connection and validity of the content and its relevance to the business side of sport
- Motivation to read, watch or listen to the content
- A connection/bridge in either logic or endorsement from past industry profiles
- A connection/bridge to key themes for at least one category (within Industry Areas, Trends, and Studying Sport) on the SPMA site
- An overview, not a critique, of the item
- An objective discussion (avoid opinions and subjectivity)
- An appropriate level of readability and avoiding jargon and complex vocabulary
- A preview of the material avoiding giving away too much of the content
