
About the Role
Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association (NLSA) is seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual for its Manager of Referees position. The Manager of Referees will be responsible for providing administration, development, and oversight for all NLSA referee matters. Responsibilities include developing an independent Referee Development Committee; leading assessor and instructor programs; representing the Referee Development Program at internal NLSA meetings; coordinating referee registration and control; processing referee dismissal and special incident reports; liaising with Canada Soccer, other provinces, leagues, and competitions; developing and managing the scope and budget for a long-term Referee Development Program; supporting referee onboarding, education, development, and mentoring; sitting on the NLSA Competitions Committee; coordinating refresher, entry-level, in-service, upgrading, assessor, and instructor education programs; maintaining referee records; attending games and events to provide mentoring support; and leading the education, certification, and management of referees for a Provincial Futsal Competition. Required qualifications include past or current soccer experience, preferably as a referee; experience with Google Workspace tools including Google Slides, Google Sheets, and Google Docs; excellent communication, time management, organizational, and relationship-building skills. An interest, aptitude, and ability as a referee mentor, instructor, and assessor is an asset.
