The SnaP: GALvanize with Laura Okmin

GALvanize

Episode 7

1 on 1 with Laura Okmin

Fox Sports Reporter

Founder of GALvalnize

Welcome to the seventh episode of The SnaP, a SPort MAnagement (SPMA) Hub digital show, featuring voices from the sport industry, hosted by Anastasiya Romanska. The show probes a snapshot into their lives by providing a visual with auditory experience.

In this episode, we chat with the renowned reporter and women in sport GALvanizer Laura Okmin.

Laura Okmin founded GALVANIZE, a popular women in sport program with boot camps and workshops, teaching and mentoring young women to thrive while turning the so called “competition” into allies.

We chatted about building relationships in sport media… not sources and the vital lesson she imparts at her GALvanize workshops and seminars. Laura also shares on her close relationship with sport media legend Stuart Scott and the scholarship she named in his honor.

It is because of building 25 years’ worth of meaningful, genuine, and reciprocal relationships with athletes that Okmin has become one of the most respected individuals in sport media.

So it is with tremendous pleasure that we have Laura Okmin as our latest guest. Click here to scroll back up and view this GALvanizing episode of The SnaP.
