The Los Angeles Lakers are a professional basketball organization based in Los Angeles, California, and one of the most recognized franchises in the NBA. Founded in Minneapolis in 1947, the team relocated to Los Angeles in 1960 and built a legacy defined by championship success, legendary players and a passionate global fan base. The Lakers have won 17 NBA championships, with icons such as Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal shaping their history.
