About Goal II: Living the Dream

Goal II: Living the Dream is the sequel to Goal! The Dream Begins. In it, we see Santiago Muñez now signed to top soccer club Real Madrid and excelling. That is until he is confronted by a young boy, a half-brother he didn't know existed. This sends his emotions into a frenzy, questioning his family's past. Beyond that, the fame that came with his signing to Madrid is starting to change who he is. He starts to become rude, arrogant and selfish which leads to problems in his relationship with his girlfriend. He also fires his agent, Glen Foy, who got him his trial with Newcastle United back in the first movie. Things continue to go downhill as he gets a red card and is thrown from a game, getting an injury and even getting arrested.

It's all too much for him to handle, but can he turn things around to mend the relationships he's damaged and keep his place on the team? With an important game on the horizon, the UEFA Champions League final, he needs to clean up his act or be doomed to lose everything he's worked so hard for.

Goal II: Living the Dream's Relation To Sport Business

In this sequel, we continue to see the behind the scenes of the soccer world. With the transfers of Santiago Muñez and Gavin Harris to Real Madrid, we see the differences between the two early on. Muñez starts off with the team great and often replaces Harris, who is out of form. Towards the end of the film, we find out Harris needs to start in the Champions League final for his contract to be extended and to be on England's squad in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Muñez meanwhile, needs to clean up his act. In the media more than once, and not for anything good, his reputation is on the line. Teams will look at behaviour like this and the place for your next game could be the bench. It's these types of things that can affect a player's future with a club. Some may have values that they see ruined and may not play you or renew contracts. Other teams might look at what's happening and may not consider offers. It's a complicated world and any athlete's actions and/or skills will always be most important at every point in their lives.

Why watch Goal II: Living the Dream?

Sequels, if done right, can continue a story we all love. And Goal II: Living the Dream does it right! We see the success of Santiago Muñez continue with his signing to one of the best soccer clubs in the world. You definitely feel the excitement he brings and how well he starts off, especially if you're a fan of Real Madrid. You also feel the disappointment in his poor choices throughout the film. Which is great! It's important for movies to give us these different feelings in their stories because you can resonate more closely with the characters and their journey. If you watched the first movie in the series and enjoyed it, be sure to continue with this one!
