About Space Jam

On the fictional planet Moron Mountain lies an amusement park in need of a new attraction. Its inhabitants, the Nerdlucks, decide to come to earth and abduct the Looney Tunes to get the business going again. Seeing how small they are, the Looney Tunes challenge them to a game of basketball. But the Nerdlucks quickly find out that the best players play in the NBA and steal the talents of several players like Charles Barkley, Shawn Bradley, Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson and Muggsy Bogues. This makes them way bigger and way stronger, which easily scare the Looney Tunes. In turn, they recruit NBA legend Michael Jordan, who is newly retired. They become the Tune Squad. With a lot at stake, they need to win this game if they all want their freedom back.

Space Jam's Relation To Sport Business

Usually, life after retirement means the end of an athlete's career. With Michael Jordan ending his historic run in the NBA, you'd think that would be it. But no, he needs to play in this game with the Tune Squad. As a professional player, and the greatest, he is recruited for a match by the Looney Tunes who realize he is their only hope of winning. And of course, you have the cheating villains stealing the talents of other pro athletes to help them succeed.

Though it is a familiar sport, it is being played on a completely different planet, with different fans and a different species. Things that can complicate being successful in this very important game. Not only do the Looney Tunes and Michael Jordan need their freedom, but the Nerdlucks too. After their game, they finally gain the courage with their larger stature to turn against their evil leader. So, with a retirement, some professional sport, professional athletes and some triumphs, we get a sports movie that is sure to teach many lessons in and out of sports. About success, hard work and having the confidence to stand up for yourself.
