The Miracle Season

Caroline Found is Iowa City West High School's star player on the volleyball team. Loved by everyone, she captains the undefeated Trojans, an accomplishment the team wants to repeat in their next season. While at a party, she decides to get away for a while to visit her mother at the hospital, who is getting treatment for cancer. It is on this night that she is tragically killed in a moped accident. With Found's school and community in grief, coach Kathy Bresnahan continues to hold volleyball practice. She encourages Found's best friend Kelley to continue because it's what her friend would have wanted. With the team not wanting to continue, Kelley must motivate them to play and win for their fallen friend so that they are able to make another run at the championship. It won't be an easy task, and they are facing extreme training, but they have the power to persevere!

In The Miracle Season, we see the high-school side of volleyball. This young team is a very successful one, but unfortunately, lose their star player in a tragic accident. After this, most lose their motivation to continue to play. It's not something too uncommon in a non-professional setting. Our emotions can take a toll when we lose someone close to us and giving up may seem like the only option. However, they are motivated to continue for Caroline Found. And though they do struggle at first, they begin to once again start winning their games. Showing that they are still a strong team and that they can triumph in hard times. 

The Miracle Season is a motivating true story that inspires us to never give up. Yes, the team was hesitant to continue at first, but eventually, they pushed forward and fought to show just how good they still were. The real story is one that is worth seeing portrayed and you'll soon find yourself researching the real thing once you've watched this film. And, you don't need to be a fan of volleyball to enjoy this one. It's one that can be enjoyed by all sports and non-sports fans. This is one to add to your sports movie watch list for sure!
