Sunderland Til I Die shows us Sunderland A.F.C and their season after they were relegated from the Premier League. Documenting their hopes of being promoted again, camera crews follow the team in their 2017-18 season. Additionally, we get a look at the passionate fans who support the team they love through thick and thin. Their undying love for Sunderland is evident as some of the most loyal fans are brought in the documentary to speak. However, documentaries are based on real events. And real events don't always have the happy endings a drama would. As fans of Sunderland know, they were once again relegated. Their story is documented in this 2 season series that cannot be missed!

Sunderland Til I Die's Relation To Sport Business

In Sunderland Til I Die we see a part of sports we don't get to see in North America. Here, if we do poorly in a season, we don't win the championship and lose benefits that winners would get. In European countries, you get relegated to a lower division. As we see, this happens with Sunderland A.F.C after a poor season in the English Premier League. After which they bring in a media crew to document their season in the EFL Championship. One of the reasons was to bring in more investors, another to document what they hoped would be their story of promotion.

Throughout the season we see their fight for promotion and hear from fans. Unfortunately for them, they were once again relegated even further to EFL League One. The series, renewed for a second season continued to show their struggles, this time under new ownership. The whole series is a behind-the-scenes look that we don't get to see too often. It's a good look at how sports work in other countries and shows just how much more important wins and losses are for leagues and teams. 

Why watch Sunderland Til I Die?

Sunderland Til I Die is an excellent series! Usually, success is what is usually documented for teams. And that was originally what Sunderland A.F.C was aiming for. However, that wasn't the case. Yet, it worked so well. So well that it was renewed for a second season. Sunderland Til I Die is even said by some to be the best series on failure. And after watching it, it's hard to argue against that statement. You'll find yourself rooting for this team and hope for their success as they fight to get back up to the Premier League. It's not going to be an easy battle, but this series does make it easy to cheer for this struggling side. It's definitely one you can't miss, so add it to your watch list as soon as possible!
