Growing up as children, Monica Wright and Quincy McCall both wanted to become professional basketball players. After moving to Los Angeles from Atlanta, the two become neighbours and quickly share an emotional bond over basketball. The movie follows their respective journeys in high school, attempting to garner the attention of university scouts. The two eventually attended USC together, balancing their time between being student-athletes and their relationship. College drama gets between them and they go their separate ways.

The movie advances to 1993, where Monica is playing professional basketball in Europe, and Quincy is trying to establish himself with the Los Angeles Lakers. After some soul searching for the both of them, will Monica and Quincy find their way back to each other and their basketball dreams?
